Students, did you know you could get your Colorado drivers permit and help Gunnison High School at the same time?  Through the DriveSafe driver education program, you will learn all of the basics of driving with the convenience of an online class. 
 Why use DriveSafe? You can access the online program anytime, anywhere! It works on all devices. All you need is a working Internet connection. Everything is self-paced. You must be 14 ½ or older to start drivers education, and you must be 15 to get your permit in Colorado.
Attention students interested in Summer Experience.  Registration information is available in the office. The following courses are available:  Girls Physical Development, Boys Physical Development, and R3AL Talk: Rights, Respect, and Responsibility.   
Other courses must be signed up through the instructor.  These courses include Supervised Agricultural Experience & Entrepreneurship (Mr. Nordberg).   
Gunnison Valley Health will be providing sports physicals for the 2017/18 school year free of charge to current 5th-11th graders.  Physicals will be held at Gunnison High School on Wednesday, May 24 and Thursday, May 25 from 4 to 8 pm.   Baseline concussion screenings will be performed on incoming and current GHS students and movement screenings will be performed on all. There are limited time slots so sign up your child now at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0b45aca82da7ff2-sports.  If you are unable to sign up via the signup genius, please contact Jill Peterson at 970-641-7710 x 4000 for GMS students or Kim Fuller at 970-641-7700 for GHS students. CHSAA Sports Physical Form Parts 1a and II MUST be completed and signed by parents/guardians before the physical or your student will be turned away at the door.
Summer Job Opportunity: Gunny Hangout Events Planning and Marketing Crew.
We are looking for 3 Gunnison High School youth to work as our planning and marketing crew for the Gunny Hang-out high school program. As part of this job, you will work 3-5 hours per week for the month of May – August with the possibility of continuing throughout the school year. You will be paid $200 per month and you will be a largely influential in identifying places to hang out and opportunities for your high school peers. You will meet once a week with the GCSAPP Youth Programming Coordinator at the Gunnison Art Center or GCSAPP office to work on marketing and promoting the events that you help to create. Submit the application to kcommerford@gunnisoncounty.org by May 22nd.
