Hello My Name Is...

Maria Kattnig

Science Teacher

As a teacher, I firmly believe in working with parents and the community to create a positive educational experience. I will be contacting your parents throughout the term via grade sheets, email and/or phone calls to keep them up-to-date on your progress in class. I also invite you to contact me whenever there are questions or concerns. At school my number is 641-7700 Ext. 3615 or at home 641-4502. I am available for outside help lunch, opportunity time and from 7:45 to 8:25 Monday & Fridays.

For those of you that do not know me, I will take this opportunity to introduce myself (If you don't want to know me please feel free to skip). I graduated from Western State College with degrees in biology and kinesiology. Then received a masters in education from University of Colorado at Denver. As well as being a teacher, I am a certified athletic trainer. I have taught elementary thru college, all types of science, in three different states. This year marks my 22nd year at GHS as both teacher and Science Olympiad coach. Both my son and daughter are class of 2022. John, my son, is a 4th class cadet at the US Coast Guard Academy and his sister, Aurora, is starting high school. Thanks for reading, it will be a great year.
